This design specifications for this project revolved around creating a game whose mechanics are tightly integrated with its theme and story. This particular assignment pushed me to change my process for designing systems, away from making interactions that feel abstract and "gamey" to ones that are intuitive and immersive.

This design specifications for this project revolved around creating a game whose mechanics are tightly integrated with its theme and story. This particular assignment pushed me to change my process for designing systems, away from making interactions that feel abstract and "gamey" to ones that are intuitive and immersive.
This was my process for creating the game:
- Designing the cards used for the random map
- Refining hand rules and PvP interactions to enhance competition
- Usability testing through every iteration
- Rigorous documentation of design goals, and explanations of how my changes accomplished them
Rulebook
Design documentation / methodology (includes rulebook revisions)
Starts with the game's concept and its evolution, as well as my design goals for the game's first version. For each new rulebook version, my design goals are outlined, as well as the changes I made to try to accomplish those goals.
